Inquam
Following their acquisition of the Dolphin network in the UK, Inquam acquired further networks in Portugal (Radiomovel) and Romania (Zapp). TheAlloy’s research in the UK and Europe revealed complexity in usage patterns and in user’s relationships to terminals. Specific products were required for these markets to satisfy unique local conditions. TheAlloy worked closely with this fledgling mobile operator to create bespoke handset offers to support their entry into these markets.
PTT Handset
A rugged handset; water, dust and shock-proof, that appeals to the blue collar worker. The asymmetric ergonomic design and quick access dial is optimised for push-to-talk (PTT) use, whilst the keypad retains mobile semantics. A patented ‘lock and load’ battery compartment makes changing batteries on the move fast and simple.

PTT Handset UI
The PTT handset is used for local, mobile or land line communication by everyone from lorry drivers to architects. The complexity of infrastructure and user needs required a modular UI strategy that would enable significant ‘over the air’ access to software services. The handset offers a wide range of third party software applications depending on customer needs. The UI design ties these together with a simple, easy to use top level access menu structure.
